Welcome to the DeLTA Lab“DeLTA”: Designing Deep Learning in Principle: From Theory to Applications
PI: Wuyang Chen Assistant Professor, The School of Computing Science, Simon Fraser University Visiting Researcher, Microsoft Research
Research Overview1. We integrate AI methods with physics knowledge. a) We build LLMs for autoformalization, program synthesis, and reasoning on PDE problems [1, 2, 3]. b) We introduce physics into data-driven fluids modeling and reconstruction [4, 5, 6, 7, 8]. 2. We develop principled deep learning methods [9, 10, 11, 12] inspired by deep learning theory. 3. We are broadly interested in LLM [13, 14, 15], computer vision [16, 17], model efficiency [18, 19], self-supervised learning [20, 21], automated machine learning (AutoML) [22], etc. We actively look for self-motivated and proactive students to join us. You are welcome to email the PI (Wuyang Chen) with your resume and a short description of your research plans/interests. For Ph.D. applicants, please apply to the CS @ SFU and mention the PI's name (Wuyang Chen) in your application.
